CHOOSING OTHER COMPANY Three-year-olds get a lot out of being with other children. Nothing that you can do can make up for the excitement that other children provide. If your child isn't going to be in nursery school or with a childminder who also looks after other children, you'll need to make an extra effort to get him into a regular playgroup or activity.
Behaviour problems arise at this age when children get bored at home. And if you're choosing between two or three full days of nursery school and five half days, pick the latter. For most children, the shorter day is easier, and having the same thing every week day is more easily accommodated. Many three-year-olds cope well with the full-day schedule, however, so keep checking to see how your child is doing. |
